MusicLib is an online sheet music library app for musicians, choirs, ensembles, and music organizations. It serves as both a personal sheet music library and a choir library management tool. Upload and organize music scores (PDFs), create collections and setlists, track checkouts and reservations, and share your music library online with your group.
Yes! MusicLib Lite is completely free and includes up to 50 scores, 500 MB of storage, collections, setlists, search, and forScore import/export. Paid plans start at $1.99/month for expanded limits, institution creation, and backup features. See our pricing page for details.
MusicLib supports PDF files for music scores. You can upload individual PDFs, bulk import via CSV, or import from forScore backups (.4sb files). Scores can include rich metadata like composer, arranger, voicing, key, genre, and more.
Yes! MusicLib has full forScore compatibility. You can import forScore backups (.4sb files) to migrate your existing library, and export setlists as .4ss files that open directly in forScore. The iPad app includes native forScore import with streaming upload for large libraries.
Yes! MusicLib is available as a native iPad app with support for Apple Sign-In, iOS Files app integration, the Share Sheet for importing PDFs, and haptic feedback. The iPad app includes all features of the web version plus native capabilities.
Institutions let organizations share a music library with their members. You can create an institution, invite members, assign roles (student, contributor, director, admin), customize permissions, and track checkouts and reservations. Basic and Pro subscribers can create institutions, with optional capacity packs for larger organizations.
Yes! Basic and Pro subscribers can export their entire library (scores, collections, setlists, and metadata) as a single .musiclib file. This can be used for offline backups, migrating between accounts, or sharing your catalog. You always own your data.
OCR (Optical Character Recognition) automatically extracts text from your PDF scores, making them searchable by lyrics, markings, or any text that appears in the sheet music. This Pro-tier feature means you can find scores even when you only remember a lyric or annotation.
You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Subscription page in your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, so you'll retain access to paid features until then. Your account will revert to the free tier, and you'll keep read-only access to all your content.
Yes. MusicLib uses HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, bcrypt password hashing, secure httpOnly cookies for authentication, and CSRF protection. Payment information is processed by Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1 certified) and never stored on our servers. Your data is hosted on servers in Germany (EU) with GDPR protections. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
MusicLib is designed specifically as an online sheet music library rather than a general file manager. It understands music metadata (composer, arranger, voicing, key), supports forScore import, includes OCR for searching inside PDFs, and offers built-in checkout tracking and setlist building. Unlike spreadsheet-based systems, MusicLib gives your whole choir or ensemble shared access with role-based permissions.
